About Freeway Brass
We are a brass quintet located in Cincinnati, Ohio who specializes in performances for schools, churches, weddings, bars, and local events. We also teach masterclasses and individual private lessons.
Jarod Gallenstein
Jarod Gallenstein is a southwestern Ohio based trumpet performer and educator.
As a performer Jarod enjoys being a sort of “jack-of-all-trades” musician. Having played with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra and Mason Symphony Orchestras he has a passion for orchestral music and playing. He has performed a number of times with the New Liberty Dance Orchestra, a group specializing in 1900s - 1930s traditional jazz music. Jarod has also performed in numerous musical theater productions including, Jekyll and Hyde, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Scrooge, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Annie, Meet Me in St. Louis, Bye Bye Birdie, and The Drowsy Chaperone. He has also appeared with the Yellow Springs, Ohio based rock cover band, Ohio Brass and Electric. Internationally, Jarod has performed in Orvieto, Italy while attending the Orvieto Musica Trumpet Fest in the summer of 2018.
In late 2023 his interest in chamber music grew and he began forming the group, Freeway Brass, that will prioritize bringing the brass quintet to the forefront as an entertainment ensemble, performing a wide variety of music from classical repertoire to modern pop and rock songs.
As an educator, his teaching career began by working with numerous schools’ music programs. Serving one year as Greenville High School’s assistant band director, Jarod’s passion for pushing young musicians to be their best and have fun with the process is a driving force in his goals as a musician. His students have earned positions in honor bands and improved all aspects of their playing. Jarod is currently teaching out of his home in northern Cincinnati.
Currently finishing his Masters of Music degree at the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music, he plans on beginning his Doctor of Musical Arts this fall.

Joshua Krovetz
Native North Carolinian trumpeter and teacher Josh Krovetz, comes from a eclectic background of musical sources. Growing up in a heavy British brass band influence, Josh specializes in being successful in playing a wide range of auxiliary instruments such as Cornet, Flugelhorn, and Tenor Horn on a regular basis. He received his master's in music from the University of Delaware and a bachelor’s in music from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Josh is currently attending The University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music to obtain a Doctorate in Music Performance.
As a performer, Josh has been an active chamber musician, attending as a quarter and semi-Finalist in both the International Trumpet Guild and the National Trumpet Competitions in multiple years. In his solo career Josh has also placed in the Graduate Division of the National Trumpet Competition as well as been a feature soloist with the Chesapeake Silver Cornet Brass Band.
As a teacher, Josh has maintained a studio of successful beginners to high school level musicians. Josh is also a Graduate Assistant at the University of Cincinnati and works to teach a college-level brass methods course..
Anna Eberwine
Anna Eberwine is a classical French horn artist based in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is a versatile musician who has performed with numerous orchestras and ensembles. Her passion for music began at a young age and has led her to pursue a career as a freelancer.She has received a Masters of Music from Indiana University- Jacobs School of Music and a Bachelor of Music from The Ohio State University. Mrs. Eberwine has studied with many renown horn players including: Dr. Margaret Tung, Richard Seraphinoff, Bruce Henniss, Dale Clevenger, Andrew Bain, and Thomas Jöstlein. She has performed with the New Albany Symphony Orchestra and Westerville Symphony Orchestra. Mrs. Eberwine has also attended both the Miami Music Festival and Cividale Music Festival in Cividale, Italy. She has a deep passion for performing and teaching others!
In addition to her performance work, Anna also offers private French horn lessons. She has experience teaching students of all ages and levels, and is dedicated to nurturing a love for music in her students. Anna believes that music has the power to enrich lives and bring people together.

Jacob Forte
Jacob Forte is an accomplished American trombonist and pedagogue. Hailing from Fort Wayne, Indiana, Jacob’s performance pedigree ranges from world premieres of pieces from renowned new composers such as Omar Thomas, Viet Cuong, and Jenipher Jolley, to featured performances as guest soloist. He’s traveled not only across the country, but to the other side of the globe, for his playing career.
Not only limited to playing, Jacob dedicated a not insignificant part of his time to music education. He has private students from across the midwest, delivered masterclasses, clinics, and group seminars, and is constantly chasing new ways to engage students and enthusiasts of all ages with with all things musical.
Jakob Larson
Jakob Larson is a full time bass trombonist based out of Cincinnati. Throughout his time on trombone, Jakob has traveled to Sweden, Norway, Singapore and Malaysia, performed the Brubeck Concerto for Bass Trombone with the Gustavus Wind band. Recently completing a masters of music from the Manhattan School of Music. Jakob has now begun an Artist Diploma at UC-CCM, started working with Freeway Brass and teaching through Cincinnati Public Schools. Jakob's teachers include: Vance Shoemaker, Scoott Moore, Dave Taylor, George Curran and Pete Norton.
